just the other day i moved my xbox and my TV all the way across the house just so i could FTP sum files. I plugged my xbox into my computer using the official "System Link Cable"(i assumed it wuz a standard crossover). but when i turned on my xbox it said my IP wuz 0.00.0.00 (or somethin like that). is this cuz of the cable i'm using??

i don't think i'm using static. but it does not say: no link. it says: 0.0.0.0.00.0 (or somethin of the sort)

could it be the cable?? am i supposed to use a crossover cable or a patch (cat5) cable?? .............p.s. i am doing a direct link(no hub/router in between)

i have this some times to.
i have it when i turn on your xbox befor you plug in your cable in your pc you will get 0.0.0.0 but if you reset you xbox it will show you the static or wathever ip.

if your xbox is turn on befor your pc ,it will do that

thanx, i'll try that when i get my new pc in like 3 days......(no more moving across house)
