As far as I know the XBox's MoBo can only support two IDE devices and it won't boot without the DVD, so you can only have 1 HDD. If you want you can setup a switch like they do in some of the tuts or you can just upgrade the HDD.

Ksteiner, If I were you I would defenetly upgrade the HDD, its the best option so far. Just get a decent HDD (it doesn't have to be extremely big like 200Gb, unless you want to backup more games on) and softmod it. Then you what you can do is get the stock drive and change it back to stock. So in this way you have the new drive softmoded with everything you want in it and the old drive like when the day you purchased...and all you have to do if you want to use Xbox Live or something similar is just to swap drives and done...moded xbox...stock xbox.

umm dude get a larger hard drive. And NO you DONT need your DVD rom to boot the Xbox... Just modify a bios with XBTool so the xbox skips the DVD-ROM check and you will be fine. No point adding TWO hard drives though because you will need a switch to run ONE at a time because you can't run two at a time for regular use. Just get a 120 or a 200gb Hard drive. It will solve all of your problems dude

Well i dotn work im only 13 so I'd have to ask my parents for a 40 ot 80gig hard drive. Or lets what if my parents upgraded my pc's hdd and i take the old one is there a way to make that work??? Cause theres like a 200gig in futureshop for like 100bucks and thats cheap and they dont ever buy me games and shit their soo cheap all my games i got i bought when i was cutting lawn. Well so If i can use an used hdd then i might upgrade my hdd. One more question.. If i upgrade to a hdd do i need the game i used to mod my xbox like 007 auf and would i need a memory card?
