We have had 4 inches of snow today, and about 3 inches the other day, I'm almost going nuts about it everything I have had planned has been cancelled this week. I hope uni is on today for somet to do prob take me 3 hours to get there even though it's a 25min commute lol.

I wondered if anyone else has been snowed in? And I wonder what the Americans think of our pathetic get Britain Moving Again advice on the radio. Seriously we are a bunch of lightweights, hell we are running out of road grit now.

Here is a photo of how much snow there is in my garden but seriously we get our selves so worked up about 4 inches of snow the country grinds to a halt.

how bad the snow is really is a location dependent question. i personally find it kind of funny that a few inches is such a big deal out there, but the midwestern united states probably laughs at my area when we are a mess from 8 inches.

at least it looks like you got good snow. none of that slushie crap you get when snow and rain mix

heh, yeah, how other areas deal with snow always amuses me, here (chicago) you arent expected to even be late unless theres at least 10 inches down, the only time i remember being actually snowed in was when we got 2-3 feet overnight

this fell about a week ago (still on the ground)

reminds me of something my friend told me, he was vacationing in texas and they got like an inch of snow and closed all the highways, he told the state trooper he was from chicago and showed his drivers license but they still wouldnt let him drive on the highway, lol

It's almost like that with rain here in AZ. If it is raining at all the traffic simply stops.

back in san antonio, the whole city would shut down if it froze overnight, but then again we had interchanges like this:

(IMG:http://www.interstate-guide.com/images401/i-410_tx_wj_18.jpg)

and no gritters... basically an ice ramp a 100 feet in the air... not fun...

well alright a little fun but really fucking dangerous...  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Well at least me and a few mates had a massive snow ball fight earlier, great fun. Last time we had wet snow in 1990 it brought the power down for about a week, don't want that. It's so weird as well to find many people walking about, you usually see loads of cars about.

Oh & Btw the public bus company cancelled all bus services lol.

in michigan we get plenty of snow and ice and have our fair share of ridiculous interchanges

is one of the best, known as "the mixing bowl"
I couldnt find a good ground view picture of it, but the top is very high up there

gotta love chicago's spaghetti bowl though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

rated one of worst traffic spots in the country, although as far as ice, all out interchanges have nice 4-5 foot walls on both sides of the road (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) that one in san antonio looks scary without any ice, lol
