I always read alot before big investments (to a 15yr old £100 is lots of money when you have to earn it yourself.) Thats my excuse for lurking.  biggrin.gif

But yer, I agree the scene will take off again once homebrew gets going on the 360 - I remember the first time I got XBMP up and running on my xbox, the feeling of satisfaction is almost undescribeable, but everyone here knows what im talking about because we've all had it.
Maybe later in the year I will buy a 360, but till my money situation is worked out every penny goes on neccesities (sp?).. till then I will hang around in the dump, and the automotive section.  cool.gif

Who was "the old guard?"  I got here WAY later than a lot of you guys.

I dont remember many of them but I know there was Brahm2, Xantium doesnt post much if at all any more... I dont know what happened to em, I wonder where they went as well... I was 'away' from these forums for about a year or so...

I do remember they were a kickass set of mods (the ones we have now are to, there was just something about the last group of em), they didnt take shit from no one, and they kicked ass when neccissary.

Try #xbox-scene on Efnet on IRC.
leftyb was correcting my grammar, and rightly so.

Did you know drug isn't a word?  Like, as in, "Sam Fisher drug the corpse so the shadows?"  Apparently it's "dragged."

Now THAT gets into the territory of slang, doesn't it?  That's a WHOLE different animal.

Now if you will excuse me... I'm going to toss the salad for dinner.

I remember a 50 page long thread where a couple of guys engineered a controller for someone with a disability to play xbox with.

Good times, I remember that... The guy couldn't controll his right thumb or something so people worked on flipping the thumbsticks didn't they?
I may not have been here back to when you're all talking about, but I still remember all the good days (Cheerio, Bagel etc....) I even remember when Cheerio made the post about getting HSD to be a mod..... I think!

Anyhow like previous people said, I too used to spend a long time on this site every day (3hours+) But now it gets 15 mins a day if it's lucky, as it just isn't anywhere near the standard it used to be. Now it's almost like looking through the yellow pages to find somethings, however I guess thats how they chose to deal with the more and more members that signed up....

I do agree that the scene is not as good as it used to be but I'm still very happy that its still around, hell xbox-scene makes up 90% of the reason I even bother to get online. We all know what the other 10% is wink.gif Sure its not as great as it was but its still the greatest website, forum, etc. of all time imo.

For as much fun as you can derive from an Xbox, if XS is 90% of the reason you get online you're missing out on the rest of the internet. Or.. friends and a "real" life. XS is a great resource for specific Xbox info.. but there's more to life than Xboxes. Go outside, go drinking, join a soccer team, get involved in something. I guarantee instant happiness based on social interaction.
