Wireless can be secure if you know what your doing. Using fakeap to confuse a aircrack is usually enough to cause curruption of the IV data causing the key to bassically never crack and or keeping the hacker on a wild goose chase while you move in on him. There are many effective methods of wifi security but most cost too much money or require advanced knowledge of both security and wifi radio operation. I do have an effective method for home wlan security as well which needs only one box to function. =)

Yes, and I highly recommend people using wireless to read up and secure their connections as much as possible.

The biggest fear about wireless hackers is that they could leech right off your internet service and download the most illegal content available with your IP as the traceable source.

Imagine the Feds knocking on your door one day and whisking you away for something you never did.

This is a good topic for those with wireless networks to share the security techniques.

Anybody have a good guide for an easy to build cantenna?  All the ones I've found are outdated or require the pigtail, which none of my stuff has.

Just out of curiosity what kind of DB gain do you get on that Beast Virus?  I'm probably far off but I know a Primestar Biquad pulls around 17+ so I would assume you would be getting slightly better numbers with that.

As for myself, I prefer this little guy http://flakey.info/a...a/omni/quarter/

While it achieves a (much) smaller gain (around 3db) it's a little less obvious than hanging a pringles can out my Honda's window. Also It's Omni Directional so there is really no pointing to it. I crack my sun roof, pop it out the top and then take a quick drive (or a long one with blunt in hand)

As for you Ipoder, most PCMIA cards for laptops don't have a pig tail connector, you have to solder one on.

so you are in IT Security.. yet you jack wifi internet (which you pointed out is an understatement), which is a federal offence in the USA.

Sounds like you are in IT Security for the wrong reasons.. hope your employer doesnt find your posts on here.

You must be missing the point of "research and development"  Also, you have to know how to bipass something to further secure it, it's a well known fact.
