Adding A Mod Chip To A Debug Xbox
« on: September 10, 2005, 11:11:00 AM »

I have a Debug Live Xbox. Not the same as a debug xbox. XDK wont load on it so All you have is a MS style dash and it will not play retail or burned ISO's. So I opened it and tryed to install a chip. The chip will not work. I have installed many chips and I have a few here to test with. I used a DUOx2 , Xenium Ice , and a X3 all give the same problems. With chip enabled xbox wont boot just comes on and shut down 3 times and blinks. The motherboard is a 1.2 version and I am using the d0 on the bottom. I also measured out the pinheader voltage is seems to be correct. It is the pin header that was on the board I did not install the pin header. So anyone have an idea why a chip wont work in this xbox?

I got of these here which I haven't modded yet since I just got it but I beleive it has something to do with the RAM, these kits come with 128mb, so you may need a Bios that supports that (I'm guessing here since I have not started to research on these, once I start working on mine I'll let yo know for sure)

Well first thing did you use a debug bios on the modchip. In not
a 100% sure it will work but give it a try.If the bios works than
you can use the recovery dicsc. But if it does work and you use the
recovery disc than you will have to leave the chip in all the time.
And the difference between a debug kit and a live debug kit
is the eeprom and the bios.MS just converted some debugs
kits. Also maybe you can use a 29 wire modchip to flash the
onboard bios. But the 29 wire modchip would have to have a
debug bios to boot.Well I hope you get this working.
You cant do a whloe lot with a live debug kit.
