Question About Incorrect Voltage
« on: August 29, 2005, 03:05:00 PM »

OK here's the story, I have a 1.6b box, 320gb HD and S.P.Ice, everything worked great all installed and working.  The d0 wire of the spice adapter always moved when i moved my xbox and finally broke from me fiddling around with it.  Well I did the pin header install, everything checks ok, all solder points good, wires all check continuity at 0, all pins except pin 1 check correct voltage.  LPC diagram shows pin 1 supposed to be at .2V but mine is getting 1.62 volts when checking with xbox on w/o chip.  I've heard different  people say this is ok, some people say resolder it. One person recommended i heat the pin and try adding a lil solder, i did so and pin still reads 1.62 volts.  I've had 2 electronic teachers here at ITT check everything and everything looks perfect.  However, with chip in it fraggs, w/o chip  it's good.  I tried putting chip in recovery and chip goes red as does xbox ring and stays red w/o fragging, it also sounds like it tries to read my dvd.  Could this be an issue with voltage or simply me needing to reflash my chip?  Please someone give me some advice.       PLease help, i miss my evox  :luv:

more than likely your d0 is not making a good connection, since your box boots to M$ dash with chip disabled...1.62 is what you should be getting on pin 1

after looking over my setup again, i'm really thinking that it's my d0 wireloom, does anyone know how to check to see if this connection is good, also where is the bottom d0 connection on a 1.6b?  :D
