I am pro intel but only because i burnt up 2 amd procs and not willing to spend any more on another processor.  The first one, the metal arm snapped off of the fan on top of it and it burned a whole right through the processor.  The second one just didn't work and they wouldn't take it back because i had set it on the shelf for a couple of weeks before trying it.  So I am going with intel.  I have a:

3.0 gig 800 mhz fsb proc
asus p4c800
2 raided 120 gig sata drives
1 gig of xtreme ram
radeon 9800 pro (not sure what an radeon tx is?)
Soundblaster Audigy 2
Windows xp pro

It runs like a beast.  I really don't care if the latest amd gets 5 fps more then me, I'm still probably going to kill them in UT and anything else I them in!

Lois: Peter, it's great they picked your theme, but isn't it a little...esoteric?
*goes inside Peter's head
Man #1:Could it mean sexy?
Man #2:I think it's a science term
Man #3:Fellas, fellas, esoteric means delicious
Peter: Lois, "Who's The Boss" is not a food!
Brian: Swing and a miss

Xeons are 32-bit.

should I ...
1. Go ahead and buy a laptop witht eh amd 64 processor because I am getting it for christmas. (voodoo is the only distributer currently using the amd 64 in their notebooks and it is 1.7 in think and 8 pounds which is a little much)

2. wait until later next year when other companies will be offering it so Ill have a better selection and maybe get it as a graduation present?

3. Just go with a regular 32 bit pentium or athlon?

hypersionic now makes laptops with Athlon 64 chips

http://www.hypersoni...tems-mobile.htm

its the laptop on the right side of the table(Aviator AX6)
it is much more customizeable than the voodoos and costs less, if you want 64 bit use hypersonic

hey fuckwad, u got benchmarks to prove it?

cause i got plenty to prove XP 3200+ performs better than a 3.2 P4, just cause it isnt as fast doesnt means it operates as well

AMDs have always been better when tested against the competitor chip

all you dumbshits should go and do your homework before you post shit

I think this is the same system as teh voodoo M:855
The case is identical just with different badges.

ITs also about a grand cheaper and I am now very excited

do you think that is too think and heavy for a laptop though?

anyone ever owned a hypersonic computer?
how is the customer service?

i dun think im the one you shoudl ask for too heavy, as i carry my desktop system around with me :/

it is considered mid weight among normal use laptops, but rather light among the uber laptops

when will a truely mobile version of the 64 chip be out instead if the DTR version?
I'd like a amd 64 but the current notebooks by voodoo and hypersonic are quite thick and heavy.  I'd like something a little lighter.
