400gb Problems
« on: August 25, 2005, 09:42:00 PM »

Does your Xbox have an F drive (F holds all the space) or an F and G drive (F is reserved for the first 137 GB on the drive, then G takes the rest)?

No I use 250Gb and 300GB all the time but I am trying this SEAGATE 400 GB and you can transfer all you want to it. When you go to look at the files they have like wierd letters and symbols in them. I am thinking I need to maybe formate the first 250Gb for "F" and then the rest to "G"...?

if i were you i'd kick myself for buying seagate... blink.gif lol. have you formatted the harddrive as per xbox standards, with a c,e,f,g,x,y,z drives as you need? if so, maybe try again. if your getting weird letters and symbols in the file names soemthing might be up with the partitions.

Good lord, he asked about softmodding...you don't need to pipe in about getting a chip just to boost you post count.  Here is the easiest thing to do...Format the hdd, then get xbpartitioner to change the cluster size to 32kb after installing the softmod (as the softmod files are not stored on the expanded partitons)...this will allow up to 512gb on F without corruption.

tongue.gif  beerchug.gif OK, this should be the end of this post unless someone can explain to me how to make it work with a FULL "F" Drive. I got it split with F and G 192GB a piece filled both up and all is good!!!!  Thanks for all your help.
