I have a maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9
160Gb 7200rpm and 8mb of cache
Model #6y160p0042211
Can't lock it does anyone else has this HD and were you able to lock it.

I have a 300gig maxtorII, and Config Magic says it's not lockable, but the new Evox says driver locked. Have not had the time testing yet.. Hope Evox wins..

Does anyone know if WD800JBRTL is lockable? Is this the same drive as WD800JB? It is on sale in Circuit City for only $59 (after rebate).

You sure? Try using ATAPWD to lock it with your own code, and see if it works. You have the drive now, after all.

**CONFIRMED WORKING**

Locks and unlocks easily with EvolutionX dashboard and Config Magic.

Running on Xbox 1.1 with Xecuter 2.2 Lite Plus modchip installed and flashed w/ EvolutionX M7 EjectFix BIOS patched for LBA48 - all space allocated to F: (~243GB). The drive is pretty quiet, even with the cover removed from the Xbox.

System works fine with Xbox Live when drive is locked, modchip is disabled, and booted to standard Xbox dashboard.

This is NOT a Special Edition

Config Magic says it does not support locking , I dont think i have the final version though
I have read that some have locked it but i dont know how.

I hope theres a way that would be a large waste of money.

I just pick up a Westeren Digital 250GB 7200 RPM Special edition 8MB drive from Circuit City for $110 after rebates. I confirm this drive is lockable with config magic. Which is suprising since WD drives are hit a miss with locking.
