I've got a WD800JB Western Digital 80Gig HDD works fine.  Initially had problems locking, but those were probably just a case of PEBKAC (problem exists between keyboard and chair)

My dad and  i have locked a hard drive with the auto slayer(just came out yesterday). We did that and i still couldn't get the regular dashboard to work. We  messed up the two dashboards and now NEITHER of them will come up on the TV screen. With and without the modchip on neither of them will work. Our hard drive is locked also. IS there ANY way that we would be able to unlock the hard drive. or possibly load up the xbox by the cdrom and use the slayer to completely reformate the harddrive so we can start over?

Maxtor 200gb 8mb Cache 7200RPM HD is Lockable.  Locked is using Slayer's Auto Installer 2.5 - Locked without a problem.  Boots MS Dashboard and Evo-X perfectly.

This thread is no longer helpful anymore as when people were adding there own findings they should have been cut and pasting a list of the previous known lockable/unlockable drives along with it.

As it has now gone on for 27 pages who in there right mind is going to search through them all looking for their drive - I'm not!!!

I want to get a seagate 200g hdd, but I havent seen anyone here with one.  I know that they are pretty expensive but the seagates are by far the best.  Does anyone know if the 200g seagate will be lockable or not?  I do not know the model number right now.  Thanks.

I just did rather shortly using ctrl+f on each page for "samsung". A more efficient way would be better though I agree.

Does anyone know if any of these 160 gb Samsung hard drives will lock? I want to get one of the ones that is about $100.

I have two of them sitting here for two of my friend's xboxes. I'll find out within a day or two. smile.gif
