Windows can not reconize the hdd b/c its fatx. I would recommend using partition magic and formatting it to work in a pc. Dont worry, its not locked, if it was locked device manager wouldnt reconize it at all.

well have you tried since reformatting it to put into your computer?

try putting it in there, rebooting with HD-setup boot disk and see if that works

what i did on one of mine was installed windows on it, used a boot disk, then wiped it clean.

When i put the hard drive in and try to start up partition magic, i get and error and it closes automatically. When the hard drive is not in there, it starts up fine.

Any ideas?

Just plug the hdd in this time and...
Now boot to windows
enter "MMC" in RUN
File-->Add/Remove Snap-in
Click on ADD
New window appears double click on Disk Management
New window, click finish
Click on OK
Click on Disk Management(LOCAL)
then right click on disk 1 and select the first option
now right click on the right box next to the Disk 1 Box
Then click on format, and format it the way you want it, select your partition letter and your ready to go.

Hmm, all I see is Disk 0 (my actual hard drive) and CD ROM 0 (my DVD burner)

Does this mean hard drive is still locked?

hmm. Now when i put the hard drive back in the xbox from which i locked it, and try to run slayers, i get error code 07 (HDD timeout). If i put my other xbox's HD slayers starts up fine. BUT when slayers starts up on that, it shows that all of my partitions have 0 bytes free although i know it doesn't cuz just yseterday i checked and i have about 20gigs free. Do I have a junk HDD or bad copy of slayers or both?

Put the hd in the xbox that starts with slayers!!!!!!

Unlock it and then go from there.....

No, it seems fine. Just use config magic to unlock the hdd.

When i boot it up with slayers, go to config magic, it goes to the loading screen and freezes. i left it on for an hour and it just gets stuck on teh loading screen.
