I've thought that, too, so I changed the FTP port (in UnleashX) from 21 to 1234, and forwarded port 1234 in the router. Still, I can't access the Xbox.

I guess you're out 10 bucks now!  :D

dohhh... Ok,  there is a 10 dollar bill sitting on my desk.  You can come and get it

As for your issue... sounds odd.  you can ftp inside the network.. but from the internet it does not work.  I'd still say you have an isp issue.  Not a router issue.

As a quick test.. form inside your network can you connect using the public ip??

No, I can't. If I try to connect to the Xbox from my computer, I almost immediately get a "Connection could not be established" error. From my friend's house, I get the same error, too.

i figured that woudl happen. because basically your sending data from a port to itself. it probably confuses the router, and it drops the packet.

But the "Connection could not be established" error happens when I'm at my friend's house, too.

It seems that everything outside the network is getting denied access to the Xbox. I just wish that I could figure out why  dry.gif

In any chance this does work. The connection speed will only be as good as the upload. Its not like your gonna get 5-6megs a second by uploading to the box. <_<

In any chance you will get about 40-50kb's a second, which is hardly anything good.

if you are running on a non-standard port then it has to be the router blocking.  i don't think the ISP would block every single port.  try some crazy port like 54031 :)  and yea like thefilepirater said about the speed, it'll take a while to transfer a few gigs ;p

As I said earlier in this thread, I changed the FTP port to 1234, but it had no effect at all.

Maybe my Xbox just hates me  ph34r.gif

I just tried ports 733, 1988, 1492, 2005, 1776, 1901, and 2049, but they didn't work, either.

I have a few ideas left as to why I can't connect to the Xbox, but if none of them work, then I'll just give up.

I thought I would lend some advice.  On your router for your ports, open ports 21-23.  Ports 22 and 23 control login.  I did this and it worked fine.

BTW, I get connection speeds of about 300k from the XBox FTP

yeah, i open up the router (was blocking incoming ftp), and it works fine now. the only limiting factor is the shit uplaod speed (i onyl got like 128k upload).
