You wouldn't see it unless you have a mod chip in it and you're running evolution-x or nexgen... M$ didn't put any kind of server software in the xbox to allow you to connect, that's done via homebrew software..

Yup, you can't look at the contents without a modchip and a dash like EvolutionX or NexGen

Oh more information on this i could add.  I am also looking at trying to use XBConnect without a mod chip.  right now i have a chip on order but i am curious if XBconnect will work without one if i set my home network up on the same IP scheme that is factory default with the xbox.

XBconnect will work without a modchip.
