I don't know a ton about the Xbox (Yet) but that sure looks to me like the power for the hard drive, I would think cutting it would render the Hard drive (and the xbox) useless, I hope Im wrong, but If Im not that guy is an idiot.

That's what I thought. I've already emailed this nut, and I'm thinking of contacting angelfire to get him shut down. Immature boys like he are going to ruin the modding scene.

i have to agree here, anyone that think's cutting a simple power wire will speed up there xbox is either:

I think the yellow is the 5v line into the hd
so youre cutting off power to the controller

Yellow is +12VDC. Cutting this wire leaves you with a HD that won't spin up.

Also, if you remove the motherboard you can play ps2 games too since the information that detects if the game is an xbox game will not check for which game it is for.
