I'm thinking that you are serious here...right?

Something , such as the Evox skinner prog must have somehow associated itself with the Recordmax icon.

Does this happen if you go to the actual file where the RecordMax program is and launch it from it's executable? Just wondering if something is linking to the RecordMax.pif windows file for some odd reason.

I guess I could try installing the Evox Skinner prog and see if it does the same with me. Still wondering why it would self link like that, and run the installer all by itself.

I know, I know, I know!

You are using the "ahem" cracked version of RecordNow.

It actually detects the patch you installed and tries to re-install itself from the original .MSI file in the temp directory.

However that file has been replaced during a subsequent software install of the Evo-X skinner.

Winblows doesn't bother removing things from the temp directory... so you keep invoking the skinner installer.

So to solve....

emtpy your temp directories (there are several)
Install the "retail" version of recordnow. (read the "news"!)

Problem gone.
