I ordered five of the black 616T's and will be looking to sell two of them.

QUOTE (Champ189WS @ Jun 8 2003, 12:46 PM)
I was just wondering about the total dvd replacment form my xbox and some sites say that you can ony plug another drive in and keep a demo disc in the original xbox drive and use the pc dvd-rom.  Also, others say that u can do a total dvd replacement.  So I am asking which one is correct if both?  I know there are tutorials but if figured I would post a question. blink.gif

Aside from the Sammy swap method, you're not going to be able to read originals with a PC DVD-ROM drive.  If you were somehow able to connect both drives to the IDE bus (you can't), then keeping a demo original in the Xbox DVD-ROM drive would circumvent the media check issue, in theory.  However, this isn't possible, so it's moot.  Besides, it's incredibly easy to get around the checks anyway.

If you feel comfortable with light soldering and you don't mind some minor case-modding, go with the Sammy.
