yes you voice your opinion but you also say ALL thomsons are crap. some may be but that may be because of the way you treat it.

nice to know im not the only one who doesn't like them, u voice your opinion on these forums and people cant handle it. Then they make dumb asumptions that your dont like it because you dont know how to use it.

Reading your explanations a correct assumption. also based on the fact that you aimed that at me.
You assumptions are quite clearly based on posts you have read exactly like the one you posted.
The facts are not all Thomson drives are crap
Version 1 boxes are not crap many people have these working perfectly well today having done lots of gameplay etc.

but i would rather spend the money on a drive that is better all around and is QUALITY.

I doubt you would know what to look for

Whats the problem with a drive if it reads disks fine?  Thomsons work fine in most circumstances.  Like I said above, I have only had one Thomson die on me by unnatural causes.

Hmmmmm.. Well I just purchased a Thomson replacement drive because I just had one crap out on me... I bought it as a cheap replacement. But one thing I did not know was that it apparently has trouble reading CD-R media.  Is this really true or are people just angry at the world and are using this thread as an opportunity to complain?  Thanks

Mp4 I have a question friend.

Have you tried only using DVD-R?

I have never tried + R myself as I have read it overall has less compatiability than - R (With every device on the market, not just Xbox) and I have not had one read issue with any dvd-r media.

Yes, my xbox was really weird and would not read any dvd-r.  It started not reading originals and only dvd+r's.  Then it got worse and worse.  A pot tweak fixed that but it kept going downhill again.  This is a 3 year old xbox.  I bought another thomson after a little thinking.  In 3 years im not gonna play this xbox anyways so whats the point in a drive that lasts longer?

Another weird thing.. why did my pot not have reisen on it? and the back of the drive had regular screws instead of torax?  It was bought referbished, maybe they did something to my drive.
