Definitely faster!  Weird though, last time I tried to boot it tonight it wouldn't start.  The game was running but the start button did nothing.

Maybe because it's an early version of the Halo / Halo 2 emulator that is pre-loaded on the HDD. The full (final) version you have to download through Xbox Live..

well the one of teh pics says 1080i....but i thought that they said that halo2 would run up to 720p. whats with that?
*

Every original Xbox game will be upscaled to 720p and 1080i, and will take advantage of Xbox 360's anti-aliasing capabilities..including Halo 2.

Neon, the music visualizer from Jeff Minter absolutely rocks!  It totally blows away anthing I've used on PC or XBMC.  It is not only gorgeous in motion but you can control it in real time with the analog sticks.  A lot of fun!  (I spent a lot of time just playing with it tonight)

Hopefully the live features are enabled for the 360 soon.  I was able to transfer my account so you should be able to see what I'm playing under Spudzspot

I really can't wait to see that feature running.

No custom soundtrack in Halo 2 as far as I've found.  No more problems with it so far. (As in it not starting)  Definitely wasn't because the controller was off the 1 time I couldn't get it to start as I could still access dashboard menu.

I gave in and starting playing Kameo (wasn't high on my list of wanted games) and after the first level it really kicked ass!  Definite next gen eye candy and frame rate.  My wife was blown away with the graphics and she usually just says "that's nice" when I show her something in a game.  biggrin.gif

I recall reading somewhere or hearing in an interview that the custom soundtrack feature would not work with xbox games running on a 360, due to the different manner in which the systems handle the feature.

That is correct.  Custom soundtrack at any time.   love.gif

My woman wouldn't be amazed by a console game even if the characters jumped out of the screen and danced around our living room.

"That's nice, honey. Can we watch some tv?"

I'm a little upset the 360 can not do custom tracks with xbox games.

I love the fact that we get 720p+ 4x MSAA but no custom tracks, I don't see why the 360 could not do it.

i think what will happen is that games that could play music off your hard drive on the xbox can do that on the 360.

but there are a few games that use the music to create suspense - mainly fps games. halo and halo 2 are examples of this, and that is probably why you cannot play custom tracks in the background

The reason you dont have custom soundtracks in some xbox games is because there are vocals in it. inserts of a audio file. its definitely not due to suspense or anything of that nature, simply just the file setup..

i wouldnt want music playing in halo/2 anyway, you need concentration in it.

well you must never had played any of the splinter cell games then...

and your right, playing your own music can distact you a bit when your playing games that require very high levels of cencentration

Ofcoarse there is suspense in these types of games. I know, i love splinter cell.
But splinter cell has text inserts, you know when lamb calls to fisher through the cell phone. Lamb i think is his name.

it was stated in the details of the xbox when it first came out.

custom tracks were only in games without talking inserts.

yeah, lambert is his name

but through out the game, the music creates suspense.

but still in the end, it is teh game devolopers choice as to whether or not you can have custom tracks. and if you couldnt have them on the xbox, then you wont be able to on teh xbox 360.
