So...
I have my pc wired and xbox connected to pc using linksys WRT54G wireless router and wireless game adapter. Ive never has any problems.

Installed the new verson of XBMC tonight and decided to set myself up on KAI.
i have the KAI engine running on my pc and when XBMC starts up a pop up appears with the IP of xbox. I go into the 'my programs' option and the pop-up changes to 'CA Core Advanced, orbital sync established'

I see all my games listed, but it never shows any arenas or anything. i try starting up the games (from hardrive) but i just cant join any online games.

Its late and im tired and i have to work in the morning so i give up. Please can any of the experts offer any advice?

Hi,

I have the same problem as ShakermakerXXX

. I have forwarded port 30000 UDP to the PC, as per the XLink instructions but still the same. There was another port they talked about forwarding and I did that too. The router is the BEFW11S4 so I cannot run Kai directly from the router.

I can see the games but no arenas. I never show that anyone is playing any of the games. I.E. no numbers after any of the games.

Any thoughts out there?

do u have a firewall running ? are u sure you forwarded your port correctly ? www.portforward.com .. did you put the port you forwarded into the kai config under kai port ? change your network adapter to the correct one instead of "auto detect and lock" does kai see the xbox under diagnostics ? is the network reachable ? hmm .. check the help section of www.teamxlink.co.uk/forum .. oh and make sure you can see a game using the PC UI first and than we'll get XBMC working .. lemme know :]

Completely turned off the firewall and am forwarding three ports (UDP) to the PC. I have tried the three recommended ports. BTW they have a deep port and normal. I have tried them both the same and with the deep port as 30000. I have selected my GigaLan adapter which the config sees.

I did note that although the instuctions talk about using Kai people here say to try with the PC first. I did that and found I could not link up with the PC. I tried my name and password vice my nephew's and I am now to where as soon as I try to link I am told I was dropped because the conection was lost I was kicked, etc.

I did find out later by trying my nephew's name and password on the site that somehow, although he got confirmation, his name and password were not confirmed on the site. So now I an need to find out why my confirmed name and password are kicked. (and this should be so easy)

Sorry about that. Shakermaker. Do try running Kai from the PC first. Use "Normal Kai Use" in the Kai config panel.

Haven't solved it yet. But I have changed the problem.

For the first time Kai actually ran!!!! It would always, from the PC or XBMC, say "Your obital server was lost. You will need to restart Kai. This happens for a number of reasons - they are listed below:" Net connection failed, orbital server down. The other reasons involve getting kicked.

Now for the first time Kai connected to the PC. I went back to the beginning setting Kai at 30000/0 and my name & pw. That worked but with the same info in XBMC, on startup of the XBox, I get the popup (connected to 198.....) then the connection crash. Rechecked the name and pw. They are the same.

Out of ideas here.

Thanks. I did go to the link. What is happening now is that I can connect one time and then not again for quite awhile. This happens even if I use my nephews name and then mine.

I am just going to step back a bit and see what the next update brings since I have to work on putting modchips into two more XBoxes. That will keep me busy for a time.

Ok, so do you run some apps in between there? Some apps that require winpcap? That can cause trouble.
