I am having a rough time getting Kai to load and run properly - anyone with a similar experince please nlighten me.

**** MY SETUP  ******

I have a ADSl connection that terminates in a 4-port MODEM/Router - Port 1 on this MODEM / Router is plugged into a LinkSys 4-port _802.11g router - so there are 2 routers on my home network.

The first router has all firewalling disabled and issues 10.x.x.x DHCP addresses

The Linksys also has firewalls diasbaled (for now - while I try and figure this out) - but I have also forwaded port 3000 and issues 192.168.x.x. DHCP addresses - all decices (PC , XBOX Laptops etc... ) are connected to the Lynksys

My PC is using static IP 192.168.1.100 and the XBOX is on 192.168.1.123 - other devices get IP from DHCP.

I have forwarded port 30000 from the Linksys to my PC running Kai.

I am using the McAfee Firewall - but have enabled server access for the Kai application and (for the time being) disabled the firewall completely.

The XBOX is on a WIRED connection and  I am using Avalaunch dashboard

I have downloaded the latest WinPCap and it is installed and running OK

The Avalaunch application connects out to the net OK and is able to download content - do DNS is OK.

**** My Problem ****

I cannot get the Kai Engine to see my XBOX - When i use EvolutionX dashboard with DHCP - I get a 10.x.x.x addres issued by the Kai internal DHCP server - but not when I use Avalaunch.   When i get the Kai issued 10.x.x.x. address then Kai can see my XBOX - but I don't seem to be able to see any games.

lastly - i can see pings of other users while connected and they can see my ping - I can chat OK using the Kai Chat interface.

Please save my life and prevent me from hanging myself by giving me a clue as to what i am doing wrong....

Please...

DHCP issue.

Kai gives the Xbox the ip it needs when you have a system link game running. If you have a DHCP running in your network while system linking it will give the Xbox an ip. Eiter block the Xbox's mac address in that DHCP or shut it off.
