Problem With Wireless

Ok, this is mine config:
I am in a hotel and I use wireless adaptor connected to my laptop's PCMCI network card.
I have another wireless adapter connected to my XBOX.
I suppose that in the hotel must exists some kind of wireless router.

So I can start Bo-xlink and I can see other guys in the rooms or in WGN mode. I can even chat with them.
I can make FTP connection to my XBOX as well.
I add my games into Advanced Config -> BoxLink games


PROBLEMS:
When I'm in messenger mode in Boxlink and I start launch menu I can see the games that I've added. When I'm in different mode I can't see any games in Launch menu :o  :o

Other thing - what MAC address I should add in Real MAC and what in WET11 MAC?
I mean should I put router's MAC in Real MAC and XBOX's MAC in WET11 MAC.
I can see MAC address of the XBOX in System settings, but it doesn't exists in "Local visible MAC table"!!! Moreover because there are other guys connected in the hotel may be I see 8-9 different MAC addresses :uhh:

You need to temporarily hardwire the xbox to the PC to capture the Real MAC addy

Ok I try couple of different combinations and now I can find games in system link.

But still my launch list is missing(I configure it in advanced settings)...

And the most important - when I try to connect to game(Counter-Strike) it says:
"The game session is no longer available".
Is this normal??

One more thing - is it normal when I maximize Xlink on my computer from the system tray and BOxlink stops...
Is this normal behavior???

I use ver. 2.2.4 and WinXp pro

I can see all other XBOX's addresses in REMOTE X-BOXES node but still same error on Counter-Strike - THE GAME SESSION IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE


Any ideas??????????????????

Also I try HALO it says Failed to join the system link game........

So generally I can found the games but I can't connect.... :unsure:

I had the same problem when my PC was wireless connected via wireless router to the ADSL modem (the Xbox is connected to the router via D-link bridge).  Now that the PC is connected via Network cable to the router I dont get the "session isnt available" errors anymore.  <

As I said I'm in a hotel and I have not access to the router.....

At the end appears that if I'm not hard connected to the router it's impossible to use Xlink, is this correct?  <

What you need to do, is find out the MAC address of your XBox. It will begin with either 00:50:F2, or 00:0D:3A.

This is what you'll put under "REAL MAC". You'll need to have the XBox on, and looking for system link games (CounterStrike will work fine, just let it search for system link games). Most of the time, the XBox's real MAC address won't appear until there is a wired connection from XBox to router or what have you. This is what flat235 (TD) said for you to do, but you said you can't access the router in the hotel.

This is basically your problem I believe. You need to hook up the XBox with a wired connection, so that the XBox's MAC address appears in the list of 'Local Visible MAC Table'. You *may* be able to see the XBox's MAC address without wiring it first, but I find it unlikely... Should you be able to select the XBox's MAC, you now have to know the MAC address of your Wireless Gaming Adapter that you are using for the XBox. You may be able to find it on the actual device on the bottom or something like that. Select this as the 'Nominate WET11 MAC' box.

Close the advanced settings box down, and close XLink down by right clicking the system tray icon and hitting Close. This is the only way it will save your settings.

I highly suggest that you avoid using Bo-XLink until you confirm that you can get everything going and play games just using XLink. Switch over once you confirm you get it working.

I don't know how much we can help you, as you don't have access to the router, and you are unable to manually type in the MAC addresses. Give it a shot anyway...
