Firewall Probs Solved...
« on: December 13, 2003, 09:31:00 AM »

i have outpost firewall pro running and couldn't get my xbox to list properly nor could i join a game untill i found this:
the firewall was blocking UDP packets from 255.255.255.255 to 0.0.0.1 on port 3074 (where 255.255.255.255 was the local adress) and opposit direction, from 0.0.01 to 255.255.255.255  on port 3074 (where 0.0.0.0 was the local adress).
once i added both thise ip's to trusted network my xbox is found imediatly and i can enter games.

now, this isn't mentioned anyhere on the xlink website... the only thing that is, is the ports that need forwarding.. 34518-34519

So what is that on port 3074?

my setup:
router: USRobotics 8000-02
pc: 192.168.123.100 (with outpost firewall mostly for outbound protection)
xbox: 192.168.123.117

edit: did some google and found that port 3074 is used for Xbox live.
But what up with the local adresses?

shouldn't it report my pc and xbox ip or is this because of winpcap?
