Your Xbox Temps
« on: May 06, 2005, 07:29:00 PM »

I just finished applying some thermal paste (Artic Silver) on the GPU/CPU and Im getting about 54C it takes time to get to that temp but my room temp is 24c. I was wondering what an averege temp was for xbox just using the regular gum it came with, I forgot to compare mine. I don't want to do a 80M mod, but I was thinking of drilling holes on the hdd trey of xbox, what do you guys think? Im not trying to make super cool, just cool enough then regular temps.

Thanks

when running at the slow xbox dictated pseed, is super quiet (i run it at about 2.5times on the unleashx dashboard). it is a bit noisy (although not anywhere near as bad as the stockfan) when runnign at the full 12v, but i got got the cheapest fan i could. the noise doesnt bother me, becasue you cant hear it over teh game sounds. i only have in on teh xbox speeds when watching a movie, because you can hear it then.

hmmm I might install one, I have a green led one lyring around the thing is, When I use it on the pc, I guess its full speed or something its kinda annoying but I guess like you said as long as its controlled. Is there a guide you can tell me to use which worked best for you?

I've got arctic silver III on my GPU and I get temps around 111 degrees F (43 C) with the stock fan at 34% with a 7200rpm hard drive after using xbmc to listen to songs with visuals and videos for hours.

EDIT: If anyone's worried about noise just buy a silent 80mm fan.
