Need Help From Other Modders
« on: May 06, 2005, 12:11:00 PM »

Hey peeps.

Just wondering if anyone else has ever encountered a V1.6 xbox motherboard w/ samsung memory chips that just does not work with a modchip.

The motherboard boots fine with the chip disabled.. but if i turn on the chip... boom..nothing.. fragging.. i've tried several chips..all the same result.
I've verifiyed that all the LPC rebuild wires are right and the D0 is right.
Oh its an X2.6 CE chip.

Any help or feedback is appreciated.

thanks

If you tried several chips then its your install that is at fault. If it frags then the D0 wire is correct and doing its job. the lPC soldering and or connections to it are not right however.
Can you post a picture?
Its defo not an unmoddable box.

well thats what i thought too.

but i removed the x3 LPC rebuild piece..and then manually soldered wires for the lpc rebuild ..and double checked.. they are right.. yet it won't boot any chips.
i've done hundreds of xboxs and never anything like this

the only other thing that i can think is that something under the pin header itself is shorted
unfortunalety i can't get you a pic at this time as my gf has my cam out of the country.

i think i'm gona remove the pin header..its got to be the culprit

Check the wires, see if they show throught the top of the board.  I had one that shorted to another point on the board, a snip and some tape fixed that up.

there is something strange about this xbox.
i really don't think my install is at fault.
i've removed the pin header too..

if the xbox is running and i plug in the main xbox fan it can't even spin.
and you can hear the xbox really struggle.. strange noises.
the xbox boots perfectly..especially when the main fan is unpluged.

the only thing  i have attached is the wire for the D0/Lan/HD

any more ideas?

Have you tried a different type of chip? Not X2

the main xbox fan was definately bad causing non-booting issues.. i had to replace that

these x2.6's suck... every one i have the crappy switches either don't work or are intermittant.

but for some reason it was like the FlashBios would not boot in this xbox at all.

but i flashed an X3 chip in another xbox..then put it in..seems to be working fine

thanks
