I was on live the other day and I was using my normal xbox hard drive. I was playing PGR2 and had no problems.

Infact for the past week I've been on live every day and never had any problems.

I turned on my xbox just 10 minutes ago and Im banned. I mean what the fuck??

Ive not altered the xbox since like 2 weeks ago and ive been on live plenty of times since.

I've not even been on evox in like 2 weeks.

Any ideas?

Well I was gonna put it there but I thought it would best be here.

So it can be seen and also it kinda related to modding the hardware.

It my be that M$ is now not only scanning just your HD but other things too. Thats why I have myself an xbl box just in case.

question is what bios are you using and does it have Live block?

Sounds like somehow you got logged on with the bios on.

well thing is its a smartxx.

I've not changed the settings since I bought the thing.

Ive always used the same option so it really shouldnt have been a problem.

just a smartx chip does not tell anything about the bios. Since you have a 1.6 go get a live blocking M8 bios, there are ones out there.

I don't think that getting a new BIOS will help him seeing as how he said he is already banned. I mean correct me if I am wrong, but he is just looking to see why he was banned.

I just told him to get a live blocking bios if he wants to keep using live. of course he would need new EEPROM, HD, & GT to get back on (or use an unbanned stock drive and keep his GT)

a blocking bios is the only safe way to use live
