Everybody With "xbox Live Not Found" Issues Read

This was my original problem http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=352524 .

I did everything. I tried 2 new eeproms, two different hdds, reformats with slayer and original hdd without a format. Still didn't work.

Then I decided to go with the original hdd(with evox on it and all) with my original eeprom that was married to my hdd that died. So I locked it and loaded the original eeprom on there without any problems and it would connect to live through account recovery and new account(only options I have right now).
I did use that same hdd with a different virgin eeprom and it didn't work so it HAS to be the eeproms.

I used the instruction that everybody uses.

1. Delete anything within the /data/ DIR of ConfigMagic.
2. Place the eeprom.bin file in this dir.
2a. If the eeprom is named something else rename it to 'eeprom.bin'.

3. Load up Config Magic.
4. A warning screen will be shown, press "A" to bypass it.
5. When Configmagic finally loads, it will show your current EEPROM on
your Xbox. Make a note of the DVD KIT ZONE and VIDEO AND XBE REGION
information.

"NTSC, Region 1" for US Xbox gamers
"PAL, Region 4" for UK Xbox gamers

6. Select "LOAD XBOX EEPROM" in the menu.
7. Select "UNLOCK HD" in the menu.
8. Load the EEPROM.BIN file in the DATA directory by choosing "LOAD
EEPROM FROM .BIN FILE"
9. If you see that the VIDEO AND XBE REGION information is different,
you MUST change it. Go into the menu and choose "ON-THE-FLY EDIT
EEPROM". Change the VIDEO AND XBE REGION number to the proper
information of your former EEPROM.
10. Now, select "UPDATE XBOX EEPROM" in the menu.
11. Your Xbox's EEPROM will now be updated with the file in the DATA
directory.
12. In the menu, select "LOAD XBOX EEPROM". You will notice your
EEPROM is now different! Success
13. Select "LOCK HD" from the menu.
14. Select "EXIT CONFIGMAGIC" in the menu.

Did this a couple of times so I know I followed it correctly. Also when I use live info, one virgin eeprom has confounder 0000...and the other has a bunch of random numbers. Does that mean anything?

My question:
Do I have to do anymore then the directions above? Do I have to copy over the serial number from the original one or what?

Thanks <

Update:

I usually just took the file and threw it in the data directory when flashing the eeprom. Or I used to edit it with liveinfo then save as bin then flash and none of that worked. I then edited it with liveinfo then saved it as a .cfg then I flashed it using build from .cfg. Now when I go to the dash it asks my language and time zone and all that like it totally reset it. It never did that when I flashed with a bin file instead of picking build from .cfg. I just found that a little weird.

I also tried changing the seral number to my old one(on the new eeprom) and got a can't communicate with live instead of a router problem(even though I was going through the modem).

I'm gonna try my other eeprom now because the confounder=0 is bothering me.

EDIT:
Is their any other program that works decent that will update my eeprom? I am not getting a S/N with my other eeprom.

UPDATE:

I used a program called eeprommagic to flash it. 126kb(I think). Now I can connect to live no problems. So I don't know if configmagic has problems with either 1.4 or 1.5 xbox or what, but it wasn't flashing it right for me. I downloaded config magic final twice in case I got a corrupt file and still same problem.

But now when I go to account recovery, I get errors. I think its mainly because I don't remember the exact information. The weird thing is that I can have some info entered and hit recover or whatever like 10 times and I will get two different errors:

1. You gamertag or other info is invalid

2. Your account cannot be used right now.

But I am still trying so I'll let you know. <

Did you make sure you entered your name exactly, example if you had a middle name like John S Smith, if you enter John S. Smith with a period instead you won't recover correctly.  Did you also know you can also change cases of your GamerTag by Account Recovery, good luck. <

It all works now.

When ever I flashed with configmagic final, it wouldn't work except with my original eeprom I first used. Any other one and it wouldn't work. That worked on my original hdd that wasn't married to anything.

Now I had to wait one hour according to the phone help people to try again since I already tried multiple times(security reasons). So I came back in a couple hours and entered my stuff and still didn't work. I found out she gave me the wrong phone number(without my area code). Finally got it to recover and connected and restarted multiple to make sure i'm not banned.

So I got it to work using eeprommagic. Then got my right info down by calling xbox live support.

Thanks. <

Yeah, I have been having similar symptoms, and after trying the EEpromagic, instead of configmagic, I still get the error. <
