Multiple Hdd Question

If the consensus is that MS isn't scanning the hard drive, then why does the consensus also seem to be that multiple hard drives (one stock for live, and one for your other goodies) is your golden ticket?

marriage theory, if you change your HD after signing up for Live MS detects that an dbans you

so instead of something simple like replacing your eeprom at the same tiem you upgrade the HD the mod freaks here (not an insult, i am also one) choose to keep their original hard drive for Live as well as their upgraded HD for backups
