Live Not Found - 00c2/nt:0 New Eeprom/hdd
« on: December 07, 2004, 08:06:00 AM »

Hi there,

After being banned from xblive on the ban day a couple of months ago, I got some eeproms from Zodiak in these forums who has lots of good reviews so I believe these are fine. After changeing the eeprom, I started getting the xbox live not found error and a 00c2 Y code and NT: 0 which means there is a NAT problem according to xbox.com

Anyway I recently got a brand new hard drive, installed a different brand new eeprom then the drive, then installed the latest slayers of the stock c:\ e:\ drives only so there is nothing out of place that should be. I'm still getting the same error code though.

I have tried the ntsc-pal switcher, that doesnt work. With a virgin hdd/eeprom I can't see how this isn't working. I'm 100% my network settings are correct. I non-modded xbox will connect fine. I've also tried with both static/dhcp and increased by MTU although it was high enough anyway.

Has anyone got to the bottom of this? Its really frustrating!

when you do the network connect 'wizard' there are 4 steps... cable, ip, dns, and live... how far does it get in this wizard...

also im assuming from commen sence your hard drive is locked and the chip is off

Yeah sorry I'll provide a little more info

1.0 xbox with smartxx 2. Loading the original bios so hard drive must be correctly locked. Drive is a 120GB WD 5400 drive with is a replacement for the same model which died so I know that drive can work ok on XBL.

On the troubleshooter it stops at the 4th step. If you look at the codes after the XYZ ones, you can see it can recieve ICMP packets ok, and the MTU is correct. The one it is failing on the the NT: (NAT). But I'm pretty sure this is a red herring as non-modded xbox's work fine. Quite a lot of people in this forum seem to be getting this problem. See cannot connect thread, but no-one seems to have found an answer.

i think you might be banned.

did you replace your gamertag as well ? If you are using an upgraded HDD you need a new gamertag as well.

I don't see how thats going to help? I cannot connect to live servers using the troubleshooting. I've tried a friends GT which has never been loaded to a modded console and that wont sign in, same error as before, then goes to the troubleshooter.

True... true...

Now... I imagine that you have probably tried to power cycle all your hardware.

What router, if any, are you using?

I've tried another eeprom, no joy. This isn't network problems. An unmodded box can connect fine using the same settings. I can reach the DNS servers so there is definatly connectivity. Could these be dodgy eeproms? The first page of the XYZ page says that code is non-conformity of eeprom.

Open the eeprom in "Live Info" on your pc to check that it is the proper eeprom for your version xbox.

Also change the mac address in network advanced settings. Set it to blank or to match the one on your pc.

Also if the HD your using has been live B4 you should format it and rebuild the MS software and HD structure clean.

If you used slayers or some other disc to intall the ms dash, try ftping the files over as I have expeirenced disc read errors resulting in files being skipped.

Dude, if an unmodded xbox can connect on the same set-up... I would bet the farm you are banned, Especially if you can ftp to ur box with the chip on.

what u want to do from there is up to you, but i recommend stock hd/new eeprom if you want to keep same gt

if you dont, new gt/new eeprom/ fix you hd according to the posts so its live safe again.

This is a brand new hard drive/brand new eeprom already though. I've found quite a few posts about this on these forums. The only thing that would make sense to me is that the eeproms I have are not compatible with my 1.0 xbox. I belive they are all 1.1's. I thought this didn't matter though. Can anyone confirm?

OK I've edited an eeprom in liveinfo to force it to a 1.0 and changed the mac to the same as my pc, still no joy :(
