A New Question That May Help Others
« on: December 06, 2004, 06:02:00 PM »

ok i got on live like a year ago with an unmodded box, i blew up that box trying to mod it with a chip, i have a new box with a 160gb hdd,x2.3 lite + chip, evox on c:,hdd locked to my eeprom, and have never been on live with this box at all, can i still get on without being banned from xbl or will they remember my last configurations? surely they cant ban people for getting a new xbox can they, cause that is all i did was just get a new xbox basically and have not been on live yet with it.so can i still get on live with being banned, if not what do i need to do?

as long as you haven't been on live with that box, and you keep the same hdd & eeprom from after signing up you will not be banned. So just lock you hdd, turn off mod, and play live !

ok i tried to connect to live, but it will not let me, i have done every configuaration i could fine on this forum, even the xbl site, still wont connect. could it be that my evox is on the C: with the regulat xbox stuff, when i try to connect all it says is your xbox cannot communicate with xbox live because of configuration settings. am i banned? or what? when i hook my friends unmodded box up it works without changing anything at all, but when i try to hook my modded box with the chip turned off, it doesnt work. i have never been on xbl before and im trying to register a new account on there. please help

Sounds like you need to change something in your configuration. A ban usually gives the modified xbox warning.

double check your configuration settings, making sure that everything is either the way you want it or on automatic. and one more key issure, make sure to turn the auto connect button OFF in your xbox settings or else the next time you boot your xbox it will automaticly connect to XBL
