HOLY CRAP!!!!111eleven

i just realized something, when you have your mod chip on and run a prog such as a emulator or xbmc or pcxhdd loader, IT SAVES TO YOUR MEMORY!! DELETE IT

That's nothing new, as well as MS doesn't scan HDs looking for that kind of stuff.

dzv - You say your HDD has been swapped before, did you play online with your previous drive? Also have you ever replaced your DVD drive,

is there anybody here reading this thread with a modded xbox that is still able to go on xbox live?

if so, what have you been doing these past few hours on live?  how is your xbox modded?  are you on live now?

a few of those who have modded boxes who can still get on live should maybe try a voice chat on live to discuss their setups further --or post here, either way.

Yes, I did play on Live with the other HDD.  This could be what caused my banning.  I guess we'll have to see what happens with other people...

I also changed the DVD drive, but I think that would be almost irrelevant.  I can't imagine that MS would ban for that.

Also, I forgot to mention that all hacked software is on my E drive, C drive is completely stock.

Just to make sure...

If I haven't signed in to live before... And have a xecuter2.1 Lite and a 120 Gb Maxtor.
Is it safe to go live (with modchip off, clean c drive, no halo2 (french) saves)?

Or should I also flash my eeprom?
Again, I haven't signed in to live before with my stock hd.

No.  Not right now.  I would wait.  We are getting banned for a reason, but no one knows why yet.

This isn't just a coincidence as some suggest, look at the numbers.

NOTE: I am going to edit the main post to reflect ll the people posting.  I am going to ask for more details that just I was banned.

Note: still looking for some eeprom donations to do some experiments.  PM me if you have an extra.

maybe it has something to do with g partitions

Highly Doubtful

I have no G partition and I was one of the first to get banned on the 8th that started posting about it.

One of my mates has just been banned.

IBM 200G Drive
Xenium Ice chip.

He had not been on live for a few days. Tried last night and got the modded hardware message.

So I panic'd at this point and put my stock drive back in, currently I have not been banned (yet!)

My setup is:

Stock Drive (was 120 G IBM, last signed into live last week with the big drive)
Xenium Ice chip.

My current view is that the latest live dash/sign in has been enabled to check for not stock HD (bigger or incorrect partition map etc.)

I just bought the live starter kit on the 8th w/ Crimson Skies.  I have an Xecuter 2.3b Lite w/ a 250GB Maxtor that is locked w/ EvoX.  You guys that are getting banned, do you have your HDD locked?  I just switched my chip off, then setup my Live account and played Crimson Skies for about 4 hours.  No problem yet, but I'll post back after I pick Halo 2 up this morning.

Hey guys...

i dunno if this is for europe also... but i will do some testing..
i have 2 xboxes ... both soft modded...
one original and one with a 160 gb seagate drive..

i am at work right now but in my break i will remove any softmods and savegames from my harddisks and try to log into live with both xboxes...

If it bans larger hd's i would be banned on my main xbox but not on my second one as this will be original ...

I have used both on live with the current configuration and have never made any changes to it ....

I will let you know in 2 or 3 hours....

Hope this helps all of you....

with kind regards,
Hcore

Hey..

i just got back from home..
i tried out a couple of things...

Halo2 is available at the store but havent got it yet .... i wil lhave it tonight ..

i have 2 xboxes
both softmodded
one with a stock hd the other one with a seagate 160gb ..

What i did with both

1. Remove all files from C and E involving hacked software
2. Removed all TDATA and UDATA with saves from hacked software or downloaded savegames
3. Cleared out the cache folders: X Y Z

What i did is, logging into live.. starting up topspin ... staying online.. going back to the dash... couple of reboots... waiting for half and hour and repeating the process again...

No ban yet... will try tonight with the original halo... but i dont expect any problems cause i heard its not really halo related but it involves every live game and even going to the live dash...

P.S. I havent been online in live recently cause of the frenchy ... could it be that m$ was preparing this already in the last month.. scanning for savegames etc and making the ban effective on this date so that they couldnt enjoy halo on live?

Good luck to all banned people, i keep my fingered cross.

With kind regards,
Hcore
