I remember i used a 2month trial on my current box starting 12/26/03 and i don't think i played up until the end... so that would be 2/26/04 that mine expired.... Would i have been scanned then? because i don't recall using xbox live much... but that is right around 8 months.... any for sure dates? because I'm not sure i want to try to sign on with my new 2 month subscription to be banned...

this sucks... I don't pirate games... i just wanted linux and stuff like xbmc...

I think im going to do that mod for two hd's with a switch... and the one wire on the ide cable determines which drive is seen... because I left my retail drive in perfect condition just in case something like this happened.

EDIT: would this work if i replaced the last drive with my retail HD? and switch the wires so that instead of the first HD is always on, its the DVD always on with the HD's switching?

Did you get your XBL before or after you modded your xbox? ph34r.gif

I dont think that matters. I have 3 gamer tags, one of them I made 2 days before getting halo 2. Thats what pisses me off. I just paid MS 50 dollars for a game, and another 50 for a brand new Halo 2 gamertag, and I get freakin banned...

I thought it might matter because if I get a new EPPROM and I swap out my 200Gb for another drive I have here, the two virgin serials may not get picked up by MS if that's indeed what is happening.  Can anyone test this out?  It will be a week before I can get to it.

OK, I deleted the french saves, then I connected via the dashboard.

Then I played a game on LIVE (had to download LIVE updates), and played for an hour and a half.

I'll check back later tonight to see if I got banned.

PS, I have the orig HD, with nothing installed on it, and I don't remember whether I modded my xbox before I got LIVE.

Oh and I don't have Halo 2 retail.

His box details:
Chip - X2.6
Bios - X2 4983.06
Dash - THC Lite, running as evoxdash.xbe from C:
HDD - 160 GB (Seagate?)

His E: partition was clean, except I noticed after locking the upgraded hdd, there was a locklog.txt or something like that in E: along with UDATA, TDATA and CACHE.  I didn't delete it so it would have been there when he logged onto Live.

He also has had this Live account for a while and played it with the stock hdd before getting it modded last night.

We're acquiring a new EEPROM for him, but I told him to wait to get back on Live until more information can be gathered regarding the issue.  Thanks for everyone's input.

So, popular opinion, is it a waste of time to try and fix this with a new eeprom until the X-S GURUS figure this out?

as far as my 5 systems go, yes there are other dashes on the c drives, but that's it.  nothing on e and everything else on f.

2 of the systems had a different hdd when they originally signed onto live but it's been about a month out.

anything else i can share?  let me know.

This is interesting, as it seems to disprove the most popular theory at the moment.  Perhaps their ban just hasn't taken effect yet.  Please keep us posted if anything changes.

Crystal Box looking might nice for Live use only. Hmmm, now I know what I want for XMas!!

Where do they sell the Crystal Xbox?

I'm pretty sure all of us being banned has to do with the mod chip, not the hard drive. because people with stock hard drives are being banned too.

Here in Canada, they are offering clear cased Xboxes with clear controllers with Fable and Crimson tides for $249.99 CDN (roughly $200 US).

Try this site for the package description;

Kinda sweet.  I'm picturing a red and green LED cladded Xbox for Xmas?

Okay, went back to playing my LIVE game (not Halo 2, as I already mentioned, I don't have that game yet) and I'm NOT banned.

Here is my story:

1. I was playing DOA3 a while, switch to doau (Because i want to unlock "hitomi" in doau)
2. Removed the Lan cable before playing DOAU
3. Reboot, go to XBMC's filemanager to delete the screenshot01.bmp from E:\ and browse C:\ (nothing to do with it, just want to make sure no non-ms files in C:\ before going to Live)
4. Delete Halo2 french ver. savegame from tHclite and its game from ftp
5. switch off the chip and go XBL
6. Cant connect to XBL dashboard then go to troubleshooting , then detecting the network at the last one finding XBL, it popup a message say "Your Xbox console cannot communicate with Xbox Live because the software or hardware may have been modified"

I read all the post from this thread, XBL will ban the eeprom with the hdkey, So is it possible to flash a new eeprom with a new hdd to get Live again ?

Currently i have a new eeprom and my xbox stock hdd, i'll try later and post the result here ph34r.gif

Thanks

Regards,
Danny
