Not Banned But Why Can't I Download Updates?

I have 2 xbox's, both are chipped, both have evox and unleashx in C, both aren't banned (yet) and both are connected to my network. 1 has 40GB Hdd, 1 still has original. I do have an Xbox Live account. I can play on Xbox live fine but everytime it tries to download updates it says "Xbox Live is not responding. Please Try Again Later" and I don't think I can download any other content. Can someone/anyone please help me!

Most of the times if you bypass the router, meaning, a direct connection "modem-xbox" will make it work.

Thanks, I'll give it a try later, also my pc downstairs can't connect to the internet so it might be the same problem for that then.

I have had the same problem, I dont think I am banned but I always get that error, also sometimes (when connected dirrectly to the modem) It starts to download and gets 1/5 of the way done and says something about an error with xbox live, please try again later??? Anyhelp would be appreciated!

I am using a linksys modem w/ Cox cable internet provider. And my chip is the smartxx and a wd 160gb.

I was getting a similar problem with my xbl, it turns out that when I set my router to make my computer a DMZ it interfered with my xbox.  I kept getting the message XBL is not responding, try again.  XBL works fine now, I just have to change my router settings when I want to use it.  Not sure if this will help you or not.  Good luck with your problem.

Also before My Xbox was modded I downloaded quite a few content downloads. Mine still don't work but I think the problem might have started when I put more files into my C drive.????
