I renewed my xbox live account with a 12 month subscription card
and Now it does not work I am not banned because i have a mod chip
because whenever i turn the mod chip on I unplug the network cable just in incase
something does go wrong but i reuped my acount and now it does not work
I thought that it might be a problem with my network but i borrowed a friends xbox today and it worked fine. When I use the connection wizard i plug in my IP and DNs and gateway and it works fine but it says xbox live is not found then tells me there might be something wrong with my router which is bull shit cause I have used the router for the last year and a half with it ! If Any one else is having this problem please drop a line !!!

Maybe it's the dashboard files you have. When I used a Slayer's disk to install "retail" dash files, Xbox Live refused to work. I got a backup of my original C drive and installed that, and Xbox Live worked fine. Perhaps this is your problem too?

Yeah, i'm having this exact problem. I tried restoring my EEPROM, didn't work..I have an upgraded HDD so I put in my old one and that doesn't help either..

I had this problem before and it was a ban. You say you used your friends xbox on your network, couldnt you ask for his EEPROM (if he doesn't go on LIVE).

No i said that i Used his Xbox to connect to live to make sure
that there wasn't anything wrong. I AM NOT BAN , thats why
I do Not know what is going on. I change the connections settings
to the correct ones and after i click connect it gets an ip and dns
but says " XBOX LIVE IS NOT FOUND " And tells me that the settings
on my router are wrong , I restored the backup i made but i am
still getting the same error And i really have no idea whats is going
on ! =(

If your xbox live settings are the same as your friends, then this would be the only problem no?

change your settings to AUTO and you will be fine

Read It before you post it says i tryed his xbox on my network with the same settings that i use then i Plug Mine in and it does not

First change your network settings to auto to see if that works. Then check your memory on the HDD through the onboard dash and see if there's a Live save. If not, just do an account recovery. Just plug in all the info it asks for and see if that works. It won't make a double charge to your credit card by doing this. I had the same problem as you and I called xbox live tech support and they ran me through the account recovery and it worked fine.

I Do networking for a living , i do not need to set my shit to auto i know what works
And yes My live account is there I will tryed the account recovery like you said but it can't. Because It can not reach Xbox live! This is the problem not the network setting i have even Jacked the Xbox into the modem and it still does not work i have been using these settings sense the day xbox live came out and i have not changed any thing sense.
********** THINGS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN TRYED **************
1. Account Recovery
2. Auto Configure network settings
3. Used another xbox with the same settings and it worked fine
And no they are not both pluged in with the same settings
4. Restore backup of dash board files to previous of xbox live
Dash board.

THE Error is " XBOX LIVE IS NOT FOUND "

use enigmahs video switcher to switch to PAL and then back to NTSC (or vice versa if you are british)

I have this same problem.

When I run the diagnostics, my IP is fine, DHCP is fine, everything is fine EXCEPT it says Xbox Live not found.

I'm definitely not banned. I'm wondering if this is a problem with the router I'm using? The router is on the LIVE supported list, and I've got the XBOX set up as the machine in the DMZ. Or could it be my ISP?

Any ideas?
