Depends what exploit you are using. EvoX places it under e:\UDATA\ somwhere where as UXE softmod creates a directory in e: root named backup. It is important to note that the eeprom won't be backed up unless you specificaly selected it to from the relevent menus.

Sorry fella, i have no experience with that one. All i can recommend is that you search through all the directories on the drive starting with e: followed by C: as these are the most likeley partitions to contain it. If the HD is in its factory set then this shouldn't take too long. If it is jammed with data you may want to ftp it using flashfxp and then run a search through that program.

I never copied the EEPROM to my PC and this is the stock HD im trying to lock

is your pc hd connected aswell? if so copy it accross. If not try and copy the file to a floppy disk. Failing this as it is the original xbxo hard drive you can view the hdkey file, should be found in the same place as eeprom, and copy the hdkey down. Then reeboot and select option 3 in HDM 'boot with lock/unlock tools'. At the prompt type HDLOCK and enter the hdkey you wrote down, it is EXTREMLEY important that you type this in correctly else you could perminantley feck the drive up like my 120gb!(refer to my posts). After this your drive should be locked with the correct key and hey presto it should work in the xb again.

Ok, it won't let me open Xbrowser without having an unlocked xbox hd connected wich i don't have spare at the minute. From what i can remember the 'f' keys operate the menus on the top, one of these probably contains a save option.

You could always try the HDKey method, works well, just remeber to be careful.
