Controller Slow In Softmoded Xbox

softmoded my xbox with harddriver upgrade to 160G. everything looks ok, but I found the controller begin response slow in game. I tried play game from orginal Cd and hard driver, the controller response slow in both situation. Is my controller bad or something I did wrong when I upgrade my hard driver. (The controller is new(two weeks old))
