Problem Hosting Games With A Router
« on: September 24, 2004, 01:54:00 PM »

I have my VA-503+ Mb; (OS win98) set up with 2 nic cards. One (3com EtherLink III ISA (3C509b-TPO)in PnP mode) is connected to a Netgear Model WGT634U wireless router via RG-45 cable (it has both wireless and cable options). The other nic card (Network Everywhere Fast Ethernet Adapter (NC100 v2)) is connected to my Xbox.
With this set up I can join and play MSN Gaming Zone games and XBConnect games. But I cannot host any games. With XBConnect I can host as far as the computer screen lobby. But when trying to connect to the Xbox game lobby, major lock-up. Mouse freezes and system slows down like molasses in Alaska.

I suspect IP configuration is the problem can someone offer a suggestion or better yet a solution.
