er...i think you missed something...

an ipaq first off, is very powerful, powerful enough to, yes, run a simple tunneling app. but thats not what it would do in xlink's case. it would run the gui while the engine resided on another pc.

which app dont you like? xbconnect? personally i dont, but thats my opinion. if you are talking about xbc-link, the app td made for modded xboxes to remote control xbc with, you are among the few... because he did it when xbc didnt, and as a favor to users who had modded xboxes.

what point exactly are you trying to make, because it didnt come out very well at all.

This will probably be moved, but anyway here it is.  I fins it fairly annoying to run up three stories of stairs from my Xbox in my basement to my computer in my room everytime I want to connect to a new XBConnect server.  The problem is I don't have any computers in my basement, of TVs in my room (and I like it that way).  I have this idea to add a cradle for my iPaq (which is running Linux) to my Xbox, and then maybe get a Linux version of XBConnect (if there is one).  That way, when I want to play using XBConnect my network translation device is right there.  Does anybody know if there's a version of XBConnect for Linux?  I'd probably plug my Xbox into the iPaq through Ethernet and my iPaq to my router.  The other cool thing about this is it can also act as a diagnostic terminal, which will interact with my soon to be created serial diagnostics board.  Anybody have any suggestions?

if you want to stick with xbc, there is a xbox remote control app that TD from xlink had made a while back to remote control the joining and leaving of rooms. its called xbc-link. its just really a tech demo, but can be found in the usual places.

Or, if you arent tied down to xbc, there is always xlink with boxlink.

TD also has an ipaq and may very well be making some ppc version to work with xlink on the pc.

If you've got a mod box, then XBC-Link or Bo-XLink with XLink will do what you're after..

Also, one day soon, im gonna hand the sources for XBC-Link over to another guy i know - so he can work on making it do more stuff - maybe an iPaq port will come from that .. dunno..

PocketPC is also one of the target client platform for Kai - so eventually there will be a UI for the IPaq
