Okay so Spartans and Elites are playable in MP, but MC isn't conisdered a Spartan is he? I thought that spartans were the dudes in this pic. So set me straight. MC is a spartan? I think it would be kick ass if we could play as those dudes next to MC in that pic.

MC is a spartan, those guys are hell jumpers. Would be nice to play as grunts and jackals as well. <

spartan... remember in the game where the guy says "we asked for backup, didnt think theyd send a spartan..."? its right before you fight the scarab...

yea mc is the only person that survived the spartanII project. there wus more but they died. the halo books r kinda cool cuz they have all this background info. <

Off topic kind of but just curious as to how many AI constructs there are? I was reading that lil book that came with the H2LE, not sure if it came with the normal edition but it was conversations and one was between cortana and some other ai construct. <

theres a bunch of ai's lol the covenant even had one on the Acesndent Justice
(midship) until cortana killed it

almost all of the newer ships in the USNA have AI to allow them to enter slip space quickly and do mathmatics and all that cool shit. Masterchief is a spartanII, there is atleast one surviving spartan i know of and that is Linda, who i believe gets shot, frozen and stolen by ......ahh crap whats her name, Dr.Someone. Its all in the books, which if your looking for plot lines the books beat the crap outta the game.

There are lots of AI, but the thing that's special about Cortana is that she's a 'smart AI' meaning that she can think freely and simulate emotions. <

Yea wouldn't mind knowing that. I think its pretty messed up for the story, but oh well.

Is it me or does it seem like Halo2 is getting a similar feel to the Matrix?

I'm not talking about its an artifical world, but that this new creature could be similar to the architect. Both the Matrix and Halo2 took these weird twists in the sequels and had craptacular endings.

if you really want to know more of this history behind all this, read :Halo: The fall of Reach." it explains everyting from the beginning, up to the start of the first halo game. and yes, MC is a spartan. <

Fall of Reach takes you to where the game starts, Halo: The flood takes you through the game (plus some views you did not see in the game such as a covenant) and Halo:first strike takes place between the two halo games.

those helljumpers are the same as the Rangers of our day.

If you have not read the books i HIGHLY suggest them, they own, hardcore.

The only problem is that they are about a 7th grade reading level but the plot is great and The Fall of Reach (prelude to Halo1) explains all about how MC becomes MC and all of his spartan friends. Good stuff <
