That was exactly my point Sentient. The **** that the "Office of National Drug Control Policy" (those stupid ads you see on TV that try to make Marijuana look like the most evil drug on this planet), the DEA "Drug Enforcement Agency" and the Bush Administration is nothing but lies. A recent anti-marijuana ad on TV which disgusts me the most is the one where the black kid bails on his little brothers birthday with the message that people who smoke pot don't care about their family, they just care about getting high. THAT IS BULL****. I love my family very much and they will always come first, and I'm not the only one who feels this way about that ad. I feel for that woman in that link you just showed. She is going through unbearable pain and she has found something that helps her live her life and John Ashcroft and the DEA want to make her pay for her finding a way to cope with her dilemma. You ask yourself, "Why? Why would they do such a thing to this poor woman. Its clearly obvious she is suffering.". The answer is money. Pharmaceutical companies won't sell their outrageously expensive drugs and will lose lots of money if patients are using Medical Marijuana. They are losing large amounts of money as we speak because 11 states allow patients to use Medical Marijuana. The other reason is Religious radicals. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with being religious. I encourage it. But when you make outrageous claims that "god" condemns marijuana and other things (doesn't have to be drug-related), that is when you are pushing it too far. As a matter of fact, I have read some quotes from the Bible that say otherwise... ""Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.
To you it will be for meat."
And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." (Genesis 1:29-31), Heres another quote from the bible, apprently predicting the herb's prohibition. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall
speak lies in hypocrisy
commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth." (Paul: 1 Timothy 4:1-3). I'm not a religious person, to be honest... I have no religion, but the only reason I showed you those quotes was to show that even in religion, it is accepted and tolerated. Marijuana is far less harmful than alcohol and tobacco. But I could go on for days, so I won't say anymore.
I'm not trying to start a flame war either, I'm just sharing what I believe. <
