Signing-in Glitch
« on: November 19, 2004, 07:58:00 AM »

Just wondered if anyone else has experience of this minor (yet annoying) problem with Halo2...

The other night I was playing syslink across two boxes... myself and my bro on my box against one person on the other box....

I hosted the session on my box, and so signed in with my profile, went to the syslink option, my brother then got to sign in with his profile, I then created the game & started it... after it was over, I went to create a new game, but I had lost control of the menus... instead my brother now had control....
To sort this out, he had to sign out completly, and only then could I sign back in and regain control....

Has anyone else noticed this or knows of a way to prevent it happening?  <

Hmmm, you may be onto something there, Sp3cialK.....

I hadn't bothered creating a custom gametype, and so it was set to the default of 50 points...
I got fedup with the map, and so quit the game... then my bro quit it after me....

That would explain the prob, although it's a bit crappy of Bungie to design it that way, don't ya think?
I will conduct further testing tonight, and report back....  :D
Cheers Ears....  <

This is confirmed..

When you play in co-op (even) the following happens.
If you start to begin a co-op game (via controller 1) and 2 people join the game, then player 1 exits, then control is shifted to controller 2.  Even when backing out to the main menu.  Odd.  You can do jack squat with the 1st controller at that point.  Grrrrr.  Kinda obvious bug to not fix..   Go MS.     <

It's not really a bug, it's something that Bungie put in to smooth out multiplayer.  If the host leaves the game, control of the game goes to somebody else, so everybody isn't screwed.  It's done like that so that even the host can quit and the other players can continue playing.  <
