Halo 2 System Link
« on: November 17, 2004, 05:33:00 PM »

I went into System Link to see what would happen and a game started, my xbox is connected to my ADSL connection so did it connect to live?

I don't have a live account and it just started the game with a count down from 8 seconds.

My chip was off and I was playing from the disk so hopefully I'm not banned from live, but I'm still not sure what happened.  <

system link has nothing to do with live, thats when you conect 2 xboxs together.

you can start a game and wait for others to join, same with split screen, you can play by yourself.

What exactly did you do and what exactly was hooked up?  Were you and your buddy hooked up through a router or something?  <

Well it appears you selected System Link in the main menu, and then started the game. You can wait for your friend in the lobby and then start playing, or you can start the game and then he'll join when he appears (which is what you did)

What service are you using? XBC, Kai, etc?  <

I wasn't trying to play with any one, my xbox is hooked to my ADSL connection and I just wanted to see the what options there are in system, I selected a profile and a game started.

Now I'm wondering if I can play with a friend using system link which gives me free gaming online.  <
