ive been playing Halo 2 on these networks ever since the release of the game and i noticed that some players are obscenely too strong.  i dump entire clips into them and they still dont die yet they shoot me with rounds and get every single hit in.  i know there are keyboards and mouses but there is still recoil and people cant be that accurate even on a controller.

there was one time where i KNEW this guy had 1 SMG and he shot me for a total about 3 rounds (1/2 sec) and all my shields suddenly dropped to 0 and next hit i was dead, WTF is that? i dump entire clips into people and i get this garbage?

i was in this all swords game and while everyone else was only getting about 9 kills max, this ONLY ONE guy had 25 and i noticed that no matter what situation im in, his attack always beats out mine, and when im jumping in the air, he ALWAYS gets the lunge manuver.  ive already tried it myself, you cannot control how you attack.  also when i attack him and actually damage him, hes STILL ALIVE (even when he's supposed to be dead after a direct attack) i know he didnt have overshield so something is wrong.

but mostly the only players ive found to be doing this was xlink players, most xbc players ive played with were on level and on xlink there is always 1 or 2 people that cheat.

Sure.. there are always going to be some people who cheat and there will be some people that are just unhumanly good.  I am neither  

So dont play with those individuals.  Unless your life is threatened... it isnt fun to get schooled by cheaters or by people that are obviously way beyond your skill level.  I am not sure what the problem is?  <

i play enough competition games to know when someone is clearly way above my skill level but what i expereinced was outright cheating.  this is why people should avoid these tunneling games altogether and go on live as you cannot cheat on live. (unless you hack the actual files, get something and then use the original to get on live, like PSO)

also its good to play experienced players as you get a hell of a lot better by learning how to play against it, no one gets better by not playing certain types of players and playing n00bs dont really raise your skill level unless the person is a n00b themselves.

but the problem is, you cant play against cheaters because you cant win.  and theres no fun in that.

I agree with you sort of.  I will probably never go on live, b/c for the money and the amount I play it isnt worth it.  Since the tunneling programs are free you will see a lot of people on it.  However, I still think cheaters shouldnt keep you or anyone from playing.  You can establish buddy lists and people who you enjoy playing and if you feel you are playing against cheaters, then stop playing them, or just never play them again.  I am still amazed with tunneling and will continue to use it casually.  I have played against people I suspected were cheating...maybe they just kicked some major ass... either way it wasnt fun playing against them so I wont in the future.

yeah that is true, i agree.  also for instance GC will never get online games so tunnelling is the only option, guess cant be helped.  <

Live is not worth it??  What?

$50 you get a year subscription and a headset you can use for syslink/tunneling.  I'd pay $5 a month if I had to, to be able to play H2 on live.  Theres no cheaters.  Hands down, best feature. Sure some guys can drop games, but majority of them won't.  You don't have to worry about someone running hacks, and if they try they will get banned.  Party system is great and net code is awesome. Ranking system is pretty good also.  Keeps everyone on an even playing field.    <

not worth is to me.  I wouldnt pay 30 cents for it because to me that is .30 cents worth I would not recoupe.  I have a few friends I play with and occassionally i host a game and get some randoms in.  Most of the time we do a Lan thing anyways!  If I had the time I would probably get involved...I havent even been on XBC in three months or more!

i can easily take someone down with one smg
I played a game last night where I had TWICE as many kills as the 12 other people playing, and I had the oddball (no teams either)  
swords are easy as hell to control if you cant beat him you probally just suck

then again maybe your right, there are countless trainers out there, and now  the offset lists have been released.

did you not read a word i said? and no i dont suck, but im worse on the controller than i am w/ keyboard + mouse but i know the game mechanics when i see it, also there have been reports about people cheating on xlink and xbc here on the forums if you do a search yourself.  

also you can tell if they have overshields or not judging by how long you shoot them, say it normally takes 2-3 shots from the shotgun but you stood there in front of his face shooting him 5 times direct damage and you SEE your shots registering

dont sweat it man.  It really isnt worth it.  Anyone who enters a thread saying shit like that is generally either 13 years old or immature.  Same approach to take with the cheaters...fuck em     <

I'm not saying you suck but I have been on xlink a lot in the past week and havn't had to many problems with this. I know that the shot gun is much more effective when up close so that might be why it seems that some people take a lot more to kill than others. As for the sword I dunno what the deal is but I seem to rock people in swords. More often than not the score for a game that I'm in will be like 25 with the next highest being like 7 or 8. although I suck ass using normal wepons and can't seem to get a lead like that. With the sword if some one jumps and is right above you and you lock onto them you can lunge straight up. If you don't lock onto some one you will just slash them and this takes a few hits to kill some one while locking on normally kills with one hit. As for over sheild it normally takes 2 hard hits that would normally kill some one in one hit. It is possible that people are just more skilled and I have played against people that are insanley good at the game, so good in fact that you would be positive that the are cheating but they arn't. It is possible that people could be cheating but it is also possible that they arn't.  <

Well I have hosted many KAI games over the last week and have seen many cheaters among the honest players . When you see a guy cloaked the entire session with 0 deaths at the end ... it's pretty clear what is going on   .

in my experience playing on XBC i have found that generally those with the most kills for also had the most kills against.  It makes sense that you generally have to be in the heat of battle to get many kills, and in doing so you will die sooner or later.    <
