It's a DAC.

A lot of times you'll have better initial search results looking for part numbers by ditching any letters after the part number, so if you Google up WM8517 you'll get some info on it, but not much. A lot of times that is just some version data or size of something in the chip, so dropping it for searching will most times help you find out what it is, then you can find out exactly what it is.
