In EU region it must be two years of warranty, if you have still the proof of purchase from european retailer. Check out with your local dealer about the warranty, to be sure.

I brought a friends power supply home and it stays orange, even when plugged into the xbox.  Now the console wont turn on either by pressing the button or tring to using either the wired or wireless controller to boot it.

I just find it hard to believe that it would be a board issue if I haven't done any mods to it.

I double checked all of the USB's and there is no damage at all.

I took my machine to a service repair shop and the issue is now resolved.

It turned out that the RF board (board with the power button and LED's) was faulty.

He put on his faceplace onto my machine and it still wouldn't boot.  He then replaced the RF board and tried again and it fired right up.

Then when I plugged my power supply into the machine it didn't instantly turn from orange (standby) to red as it did previously.  Power supply stayed orange until powered up and went green as normal.

I am extremely surprised that the RF board would cause the power supply to do that.

Either way, it is a lot better than having to deal with the MOFSETs.

If anyone is interested the repair shop is called Reapers and is in Pineville North Carolina.  Very nice guy.  Reasonable prices.  They specialize in Xbox 360 and PS3 repair.

Then probably the main transistor on the ROL board was shorted.

That guy repair will probably refurbish your original ROL and re-use or sell.  Not that I fault him on that.  I'd do the same.

Repair a part and give it new purpose.  We - Americans - throw away too much
