Hello

I know that MS currently offers a official 320GB HDD for the Xbox 360 S 4GB but can you put a unoffical larger one inside? Is there a size limit?

You can use any size hard drive on a rgh box but 320 is the max a stock box can do

Yes, it would be a RGH.

It has to be a 2.5" SATA drive right?

Also do I have to put it in the Xbox 360 HDD case? Ive seen the case can be bought alone with no harddrive on eBay.

yep, 2.5" sata, You dont have to use a case, just makes it easier to get in and out with one

If its the 4GB slim you can theoretically add any size HDD. I did this to a 4GB a while back and it worked well. I ended up selling it so I undid the mod. I don't know if anyone has been kicked off XBL though for this. It would probably be best to just get an official HDD if you were worried about it.
