Hello.
My xbox died recently. I played a game, turned it off and it never turned on again.
The xbox was rgh'ed. The work was done by me and I'm not really good at soldering, however, everything worked fine for a year. I thought it might be the rgh part, so I took everything related out but nothing changed. No reaction to a power button press.
I have 2 power supplies, so I tried it with another one. The power supply light went red as soon as I connected it. The other pw supply doesn't turn red, it stays yellow. I tried checking the voltages of U5B1 and U5B2 regulators, 5v line. The 5v line measures at about 4.5v, U5B1 outputs 0.4v, U5B2 - 1.4v. As far as I understand all of those are not what they're supposed to be but I don't know how to fix it. Both regulators get very hot.
Any help would be great.
Thanks.
You killed a fuse or mosfet. The u5b2 regulator should be 1.8v.
i doubt the regulator is dead. it's something in the power line leading to your regulator. Probably grounded something you shouldn't have when the wires shorted due to coming off. or touching slightly becuase of bad soldering. ANd finally failed.
