Hi I have a small problem with my ethernet port...
and I have no idea how I can fix the problem
when i plug in the cable it doenst connect or hold
when I plug in the cable it feels very very loose...
(( dirty joke came about in facebook lol ))
sometimes when i plug it in I have to make sure it sits in a certain position
then it will connect, and disconnect repeatedly
I dont like using the wifi I dont have a vert strong connection my provider sucks
i was thinking about desoldering the port off and just attaching the ethernet cable to the board but i might damage it
but then i decided to come here first.. ask what to do...
any ideas i can do?

Just in case of the obvious, ...your cable does have the lock tab in place that you press with your thumb to release?



If your lock tab is good, then check the area in the port that it locks into, it could have crap in it stopping the lock tab doing its job.
