C000-0001 Error Updating Live
« on: November 16, 2012, 03:56:00 PM »

So my friend sold me an older white Xbox 360 of his (I think it's the first version that had HDMI), and it plays games fine, but when I try and connect to live, it requires an update and it tries to install, then fails with the full code of:

3151-3F45-1380-2203-C000-0001

Looking around the internet it seems like this means maybe the drive is replaced? I contacted him and he said he had a local XBox repair company fix the disc drive because it stopped reading games. So.. what gives? Did that repair company screw over my chances of ever putting this XBox onto XBox Live again?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I don't know about modding/etc or anything on XBoxes, so you might have to reply to my like a child. Hah.

As much as I'd love to do that, he had them repair it like a year or more ago, and it's just been sitting at his house since. The "company" isn't around anymore, as far as I can tell (it was some guy he called on Craigslist). So, maybe I'm screwed? :-/

Your dvd drive was probably flashed with Ixtreme's LT+3.0  ... so that it could play back up / copy games

That person sold the console.  You got it.  They didn't tell you about the Flashing.

When you updated with Xbox Live (or a New Game release of Nov 2012), Microsoft Servers saw a custom Firmware and didn't like it.  Now, you are security boxed

You need Flashing working done and Updating done in the proper sequence
