No its compatible with nand-pro v2 not nand-x. Nand-pro is the software that is used to dump the 360 nand.

Even if it cost more then the TX its still a better deal for people that just want to RGH one 360.

Bear with me, I know little about RGH'ing a console. I've JTAG'ed mine but now am researching RGH as I am tired of fixing RROD's on the "phats".

Why would this be single use only? Does that big clear box stay inside of the console?

And side question, does that mean that whatever chip you put in there does the RGH each time the console is turned on, unlike JTAG where once you've hacked it there is no need for additional hardware?

The chip on a Xenon is labelled "ANA".  It takes digital video from the GPU and primarily performs digital-to-analog conversion.  When they added HDMI support to the Zephyr, the HDMI functionality was added to the ANA chip and was renamed "HANA".

Corona still has a "HANA", it's just not separate chip anymore.

I meant in regards to HANA being used for the hack, not about whether HANA was present.

When I read the RGH summary at free60.org HANA is only mentioned in the Slim section and used because unlike Phat consoles it doesn't have a "CPU_PLL_BYPASS" connection on the mobo, but people keep repeating that HANA is the issue and I've only seen one person on this forum mention a clock generator being the issue.

that would be great, cuz there's plenty of people like me that only want to do one xbox and is not worth buying the nand-x for the coolrunner .

I just want to clarify one thing.  The nand-x is not required for programming the TX CoolRunner.  You can buy or build a printer port cable to read/write your nand and another one to program the CoolRunner.  The nand-x just makes it much faster.

When I decided to do the RGH on my Jasper, I bought the "phat coolrunner bundle" that comes with the printer port cable for the coolrunner since I already had a nand cable from back when I did the JTAG on my xenon console.

If I planned to do more then one or two units I would spend the money on a nand-x because it will save you hours when dumping the nand for each xbox.

Cheers.

This would have to be super-low price to make it worthwhile, for beginners it makes better sense and economy to get a pro to install one of the single-purpose chips for RGH as the Nand only needs reading/writing once (best done by a pro and as cheap also) and as for JTAG, why anyone would pay the extra is beyond me  rolleyes.gif Thats if there's any left... As for pros/advanced: It might pay off if you plan to play around with ur kernel/Nand a lot and don't want to install a socket... oh wait u still have the same issue there also... don't you? If you have sn SPI then you just add a socket or header so u can use over and over, either way you have to open the case or install an external socket so... why do we need on-board SPI ?? I really dont see the point,to my mind less is better keep it lean and mean. Still I guess it's good to have choices and if they are onto the whole xtal/corona thing then good on them, that will be the only factor (and perhaps price) that might induce me to buy :-)

Wouldn't RGH'ing a Xenon be like trying to put nice rims on your uncle's old 1972 Nova.  Sure it looks nice but it won't last long enough to be enjoyed...

Actually a Xenon is like a Corolla: It might have a a couple of design flaws, but overcome them and it will kick-on forever (even if there are more efficient models around) It's funny: When I'm playing FPS on live and some1 complains about their box getting choppy every time some1 drops a smoke grenade I say : 'Are you using a Slim?' and they say :'Yes how did you know?'  ;-)

They should replace that silly 'are u buying a kinect poll' with 'Which is the best model 360?' Xenon, Falcon, Jasper, Trinity or Corona?' I'm inclined to say Falcon , maybe Jasper... hmmm there are pro's and cons of each, using less power with smaller cores doesn't always = better as the freq gest diminished more easily, makes me wonder why M$ put in that silly choke on the Slims's southbridge ..
